Construction shall be implemented in accordance with Technical Specification for Building Water‑supply Plastic‑coated Composite Pipe Engineering CECS125:2001.
The following construction tools shall be selected for plastic‑coated steel pipes:
(1) Use metal saw for cutting; (2) Use special roll grooving machine for grooving; (3) Use pipe bender for cold bending; (4) Use electric threading machine for pipe thread processing; (5) Use file to remove burrs and machine round corners at pipe ends; (6) Apply high‑strength solvent‑free liquid epoxy resin coating with small brush or toothbrush.
Construction procedures for plastic‑coated steel pipes shall meet the following requirements:
(1) Plastic‑coated steel pipes shall not be embedded in reinforced concrete structure layers; (2) Welding is prohibited during installation of plastic‑coated steel pipes; (3) Install pipes from large diameter to small diameter, and seal pipe ends timely; (4) Throwing, dropping and violent impact are strictly prohibited during transportation, loading/unloading and on‑site construction; (5) For pipes DN50 and below, cold bending with pipe bender is allowed. The bending radius shall not be less than 8 times of pipe diameter, and bending angle shall not exceed 10°.
